Coming from the direction of Almeria itself , the airport or the train station, Finca Los Tigres and Hípica Aguamarga are located off the ALP-712, 1.5 km (0.9 M) before Agua Amarga, at about 45 minutes by car from the Airport.
LOCAL DIRECTIONS
About 2km before the village there is a sign showing La Joya. Soon after that, a warning sign "Travesia Peligrosa" and immediately after that, you will see a narrow, white-paved road to the right with a number of signs: Finca Los Tigres, Hípica Aguamarga, Lajoyadecabodegata. Follow this road , bearing left at a fork in the road. Drive past Charo’s Houses and a car port. To the right , a driveway leads up to Finca Los Tigres. Upon arrival at the airport please contact our representative on the phone number provided in your confirmation documentation to arrange for the keys and a tour of the facilities.
Agua Amarga is not well served by public transport, so car rental is essential. You can rent a car at the Almeria train/bus station as well as at the Airport and we highly recommend organising this before leaving the UK. Our preferred partner is Easyautos, who are linked with local car rental group Auriga (click on logo to obtain availability and prices)
If arriving by air, your destination is only a 30-40 minute drive from Almería Airport, the closest international airport. Travel from the airport is recommended by car and car hire is available within the terminal building at Almería Airport. We recommend organising your car rental through EasyAutos before you leave the U.K., although this is not essential - a rep for EasyAutos can be found in the Arrivals hall at the airport. (Please note EasyAutos are linked with Auriga so you can approach their rep also).
There are regular scheduled flights to Almería from Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester in the U.K. Flights also arrive regularly from Dublin in Ireland as well as Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Leipzig and Munich in Germany. There are also flights to and from various other Spanish airports including Barcelona and Madrid.
Almería Airport is only 10km east of the city centre and very well connected to the road network in the area, being close to both the AL-12 dual carriageway and A-7 Autovía del Mediterraneo (Mediterranean Motorway).
The nearest train station to Agua Amarga is at Almería, so arriving by train is unfortunately not an option.
Taxis are, of course, in abundance at Almería Airport, with a fare to the city centre costing in the region of €15 (£10.40 approx).
In addition, please note that whilst there are also U.K. flights to Malaga and Murcia airports, Murcia is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Agua Amarga and Málaga is closer to four hours’ drive. It is therefore strongly recommended that you fly to Almería Airport.
If you do wish to fly into Murcia, we have a recommended hotel in San Pedro - Hotel Traíña - for those guests who fly into Murcia Airport late in the day.
We also can arrange for you and your party to stay at a four bedroom villa called Chalet Mar Santa, on occasions when our own accommodation is already booked. Chalet Mar Santa is a few minutes' drive away, halfway between Finca Los Tigres and Agua Amarga.
